Visiting Mantralaya for the first time? A little planning makes a big difference. Here is a simple checklist to help you have a peaceful, well-organised pilgrimage to Rayaru’s Brindavana.
1. Choose Your Dates
Weekdays are calmer than weekends and Thursdays. The cooler months (November–February) are the most comfortable. If you wish to attend the grand Aradhana, plan and book very early, as crowds are large.
2. Sort Out Travel
The nearest railway station is Mantralayam Road (16 km). From Hyderabad it is about 250 km by road (5–6 hours). See our detailed How to Reach Mantralaya guide for full options.
3. Book Accommodation Early
Mutt rooms (Sarvajna Mandir, Shanti Niwas) are budget-friendly and can be booked up to 30 days ahead on srsmatha.org. Private lodges are also available.
4. Plan Darshan & Seva
General darshan is free (roughly 6 AM–2 PM and 4 PM–9 PM). If you wish to perform a seva, book it in advance on the official portal. Reach early on busy days.
5. What to Carry
- Valid ID proof (needed for room booking / seva)
- Comfortable cotton clothes suited to the temple dress code
- Water, a hat and essentials for warmer months
- A small bag only — heavy luggage is inconvenient in queues
- Cash for local autos, prasada and small purchases
6. Be Present
Above all, come with a calm mind and devotion. Take time by the Tungabhadra, sit quietly near the Brindavana, and let the peace of Mantralaya work on you. Rayaru welcomes every sincere heart.
